Tennis: Novak Djokovic
Starting his professional career in 2003 and winning his very first ATP title in 2006, Novak Djokovic holds the current record for most weeks with ATP's World No.1 ranking (373 weeks). At the conclusion of the 2021 tennis season, the Serbian tennis star made history securing his seventh year-end No.1 ATP Ranking, but was stripped of his No.1 title shortly after his COVID-19 vaccination stance denied him entry to the Australian Open.
Despite the setback, Djokovic returns to the Australian Open with yet another Wimbledon championship to his list of accolades and is in fine form to take out further Grand Slam tournaments in 2023. With the retirement of long-time rival Roger Federer in 2022, both Djokovic and Rafael Nadal now look forward to challenging a much younger era of players. Known collectively as 'The Big Three' – the world-renowned trio dominated for more than a decade of professional men's tennis, matching up against each other in a series of memorable Grand Slam finals.
