Every Australian playing in the 2024 IPL tournament: Starc's big money return; Warner's World Cup audition

Aussies at IPL 2024

A number of Australia's biggest stars will feature in the IPL this season - including two superstar quicks on monster deals.

Mitchell Starc went for the biggest auction price in IPL history, breaking the record set by long-time partner in crime Pat Cummins earlier on the same night.

They'll be joined by plenty of other Aussies, including rising stars like Jake Fraser-McGurk.

One man that won't be there however is Steve Smith, after the Test vice-captain was snubbed by every team at the auction.

Let's take a look at all 17 Aussie players set to feature in IPL 2024.

The 35-year-old has been with the franchise for the past three years.

Pat Cummins will move to a new home in this year's tournament, signing for a whopping $3.67 million.

Australia's Test and ODI captain didn't feature in the IPL last year.

Adam Zampa will go around for the Royals once again, with the team retaining him at the auction for $270,000.

The crafty leg-spinner played in Rajasthan last season.

Mitchell Marsh will remain in Delhi for a third-straight season, signing on for $1.2 million with the franchise.

It caps off an incredible return to form for the all-rounder, who won the Allan Border Medal earlier this year.

David Warner may have retired from Test and ODI cricket, but he will stick with the Capitals in the IPL this year, hoping to press his claims to play one final World Cup in the shortest form.

The left-hander went for $1.16 million during this year's auction.

Cameron Green - Royal Challengers Bangalore

In one of the biggest deals in IPL history, Cameron Green went for $3.15 million at the auction.

The maturing star will link up with RCB after his debut season with Delhi Capitals.

Marcus Stoinis has been retained by the Lucknow Super Giants, despite his recent form slump with bat and ball.

The all-rounder raked in $1.7 million at the auction, to the surprise of many.

Mitchell Starc - Kolkata Knight Riders

Mitchell Starc will end a lengthy IPL hiatus this year - and he's gone for the biggest auction price in the tournament's history.

The left-arm quick will bring home an astonishing $4.43 million with Kolkata.

Starc hasn't played in the IPL since 2015, but will end a near decade-long absence on a ridiculous contract.

Travis Head has been to a few different IPL franchises and this year, finds himself at Sunrisers Hyderabad after securing a $1.2 million deal at the auction.

The 30-year-old remains a lethal force with bat in hand in white-ball cricket.

One of the fastest-rising stars in world cricket, Jake Fraser-McGurk captured the attention of IPL franchises and was eventually snapped up for $92,000.

After being overlooked in the draft, the big-hitting Victorian comes into the Delhi Capitals squad as a replacement player.

Despite his injury woes, Jhye Richardson remains a popular option for IPL franchises and will link up with Delhi Capitals.

The seamer joins a number of other Aussies, going for $890,000 at the auction earlier this year.

A veteran of the T20 scene, Matt Wade returns to Gujarat Titans this season.

The wicket-keeper went for $446,000 at this year's IPL auction.

Jason Behrendorff - Mumbai Indians

Another experienced player, Jason Behrendorff was a late pick for the Mumbai Indians this year.

The left-armer went for $135,000 at the IPL auction.

Tim David has been retained by the Mumbai Indians, bringing his raw power and handy spin bowling to the IPL.

The all-rounder went for $1.53 million at the auction.

Always on the fringe of the Aussie team, Nathan Ellis will get another chance to showcase his ability in the IPL.

The right-arm quick went for $135,000 at the auction and joins the Punjab Kings.

In one of the biggest shocks at the IPL auction, Spencer Johnson landed at the Gujarat Titans on a massive $1.78 million.

After a stellar BBL campaign and Australian debut, the left-armer was a popular player at the auction.

Ashton Turner - Lucknow Super Giants

Ashton Turner is a reliable T20 all-rounder and will ply his trade for Lucknow Super Giants this season.

He earned a $178,000 price tag at the auction.
